It is the old Housemans Engine House from the South Phoenix tin mine and is now a heritage centre. Cornwall used to be a huge producer of tin and the mines are dotted all around the county. We live about 20 miles to the left and can see right down across what you can see in the distance.

I should have checked the photo before I replied. Yes that is bracken (ferns) in the foreground as well as the gorse.
