Wordless Wednesday - At last!

Leaving Southampton

Somewhere in the English Channel

Last week we were able to go to sea again at last after four cancelled cruises. All passengers had to have had their second vaccination at least two weeks before sail date, and also to have a drive through Covid test at the port. No-one was allowed to embark until they had a negative result sent to their phone. It was only a four day cruise with no port calls. Basically we sailed around in circles from Southampton to the tip of Brittany, halfway back to Southampton, turn around again and down to the Lizard (Cornwall) then back to Southampton. Nobody cared that it was a cruise to nowhere, it was good to get to sea again and relax.

I am joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the blog hop.

  8. I'm glad that you succeeded this cruise even to nowhere! My mind refuses the idea of vaccination and test together in the same phrase... :(
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your trip, because the images are so beautiful!
    Happy WW!

  9. Jackie seeing that photo of the sea brought back so many memories. There is nothing like the scent, the wind and waves. Thanks so much.

  10. Oh, we bet that was so enjoyable. Mom and Dad would love to take the family on another cruise too, but they are still worried with all the Delta variant floating around. We are happy you had a nice trip and were able to be safe too.

  16. I think it's absolutely WONDERFUL that you and Ivor finally got to take a cruise - it doesn't matter WHERE the cruise boat went - it was something you two love and had missed for way too long. I'm so happy you were able to go!

  19. Oh! WoW! I am so glad you two got to go! There is something so energizing about being out on the water and (so I have heard) going on a cruise! One of the best things about being in Vancouver last week was the smell and the sight of the sea. Thanks for sharing the views.
