(Not) Wordless Wednesday.

At the hospital I have been attending for chemotherapy they have the Mustard Tree centre which is run by Macmillan cancer support nurses and volunteers.

You can go for a coffee or a chat. They also have fully trained therapists who give their time free. There are four therapists, possibly more.

Yesterday I went for my last session of 6 weeks of Reiki and had a lovely surprise when I got there. Another therapist has just started and gives one day a week. She belongs to "The Friends of Pentillie" and they regularly give donations to a charity of their choice. She suggested the Mustard Tree and each therapist can nominate a client of theirs for a gift from them. My therapist nominated me!

I had taken a small gift for my therapist as a thank you. They are not allowed to take money but I always make a good donation to the centre after every treatment. She then said she had a gift for me too as she had enjoyed our chats so much. What I think she meant is that I am supposed to be relaxing but keep talking until she tells me I need to close my eyes and relax.

This is what I got. The wrapped present in the front right is a mug with owls on.

There are different biscuits, fudge, chutney, chocolates, mince pies and tea.

I am joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the blog hop.

  1. That's a lovely gift, Jackie! Even better was the 6 weeks of Reiki, which I hoped helped. I've had it done, and other energy healing, and while I can't explain how it all works, I just know from experience that it does!

Anyway, I hope you are able to enjoy those goodies! 😊 🎁

  11. Wonderful that your therapist is so considerate and caring. They must see so much and be sometimes over whelmed with work and worry for their patients. Enjoy the gift. XX
