Wordless Wednesday


Tromsø in Norway's Arctic Circle. I can't remember exactly where this was but was during a private tour. It was taken around 4.30pm and never gets much lighter during the winter months. We have also been there June/July and it feels strange to see the sun just above the horizon at midnight at that time of the year.

    It would be fascinating to visit both summer and winter, but I'm not so sure I'd want to live there.

    The contrast between the winter darkness and the midnight sun in summer is so surreal. Tromsø looks absolutely magical in the Arctic winter!

    Beautiful picture but it just makes me shiver. I'm still waiting for warm weather to show up around here, lol. I imagine it's pretty amazing to go somewhere though where the sunlight would be so different than what we have at home.

    Visiting Tromsø was the highlight of my trip last December, I'm thinking of going back in a Summer month just to see how different it looks without the snow!

    When I was a child, I used to have dreams where I lived in a place with a midnight sun. Strangely, I never dreamed about the winter. To me it would be so strange. I have never gotten to experience either, and, for that reason, I really enjoyed the picture.
