Mom has been on a lot of ferries, including the big ones where you have to spend the night.

That is so cool! I LOVE ferries! If there is one on the route I am going I try to take it. We have so many different ones here in BC and a few in Alberta, and I have been on most of them. I think my favorite is the one Harrop Cable Ferry across the Kottenay River and the Finnigan Ferry across the Red Deer River in Aberta.
