The name The Ugly House is thought to be a corruption of the name of the local river, Lugwy. It is in Capel Curig which has the dubious honour of being the wettest place in the UK with an average annual rainfall of 2612.18mm which is slightly under 103 inches.

To stay there could be a perfect life experience!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jackie for showing this place. It's like in a parallel universe!
And... it's not ugly at all! It's savage!
Happy WW and a fine week! 😘❤️
I love animals in nature. There is were they belong
ReplyDeleteWe love the ugly house and the sheep too.
ReplyDeleteNice post I never get to see places like this stuck in London thanks for sharing Jackie :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a sheeptastic woolly week 👍
I would love to be there and explore the area. Even the Ugly House.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Big hug, Jackie. ♥
Beautiful photos. That ugly house is cool. XO
ReplyDeleteOutstanding sheep out standing in their field. The department head of Physics at NC State University was from Wales. Snowdonia gives my mind's eye lots of pretty images. Every Christmas we had a pot luck lunch in the department. His wife always brought something truly delicious that was served during holidays in Wales.

That is some scenic countryside. That house isn't really ulgy, I kind of like it!
ReplyDeleteThe house would grow on me, and the countryside is lovely. That's more rain than we even get here in the swamps, though, and i'm not so sure i'd get used to that.
ReplyDeleteLove the rugged vistas.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to visit Snowdonia someday.
Hug and blessings, Jackie.
Gorgeous landscapes and adorable sheep. The ugly house might as well be rechristened Pretty House. :)
ReplyDeleteGood to be here, Jackie. Been a while.
Wonderful! Thanks for reminding me it's about time I took a trip back to Snowdonia, maybe I'll add to my annual camping list!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful countryside. Amazing house. Never seen anything like this before.
ReplyDeleteUgly?? I don´t think so. It is charming.
