Old 1780s bridge at Postbridge, Dartmoor and known as New Bridge.
Much older bridge, thought to be 12th century! Tin was mined on the moors and carried by pack horses who crossed the clapper bridges to take it to Tavistock, an ancient stannary town.

Wow, the old bridge certainly looks sturdy but scary. I'm not sure i'd make it across, but the new one is quite beautiful.

Isn't Dartmoor wonderful? There was a clapper bridge beside my village pub in Sussex, and the locals always refered to the pub by its nickname, The Clappers
