Wordless Wednesday, Kirkwall, Orkney Islands.

.We had been to Kirkwall before, so this time decided to stay around the town.

The harbour where the cruise ships dock.

The above three photos were all taken from the ship before we went ashore.

On our way walking around the town we found the Orkney Museum and spent some time in there.

Behind the museum is Tankerness House Gardens.
Doesn't look the most comfortable of seats......

or is it?

As it was a very hot day we passed quite a while there enjoying the sun, flowers and the scenery.

I am joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for the blog hop.

  1. I always look forward to your travel photos and these didn't disappoint! That stone seat makes me think of an ancient throne!

  2. You and hubby go to the coolest places. I know you love cruising the very best, but often the land adventures can be fun too. You both are most good looking.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, my friend. Love and hugs. ♥

  4. How beautiful you look standing in front of that gorgeous Bush and full bloom. The past month I've been watching reruns of a PBS television show called Rick Steves Europe. Used to watch years ago and so now I'm remembering everything I forgot and enjoying the scenery.

    1. It is not an azalea, I think it may be a variety of Elder.

  8. I’ll skip the seat, but it looks like a great place to visit.

  9. Absolutely enchanting! This looks like the kind of place where time slows down and every corner has a story to tell. That seat may be deceptive, but it certainly wins points for character!
