I wasn't going to post any more Alaska photos but several people said the previous photos were not how they imagined Alaska to be.
We were there mid July and it was mostly T shirt weather during the land tour, the sort of summer temperatures we are used to around 65F. The following two photos were taken from the ship of the glaciers.
Glacier Bay. |
Hubbard Glacier. We were much further from the glacier than it appears. Note in the bottom right the glacier calving. |
It's amazing to see the glaciers though, they are spectacular!

ReplyDeleteI went on an Alaskan cruise in 1988 and saw Glacier Bay. I see in your pictures what fascinated me then - the blue ice. It was so beautiful! Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThese are just breathtaking! :) <3
ReplyDeleteWoW! They reminds me of the Columbia Ice Fields! I have not seen them in quite a few years, but global warming has decimated them, I hear the glaciers in Glacier Bay are disappearing too. Too bad, they are so very beautiful and the blue is always so amazing. Thanks Jackie! I always love seeing your travel photos. They inspire me. Barb
