Wordless Wednesday.

 Hubbard Glacier in Alaska.

If you look to the right hand side, you can see it calving. I remember the noise being just like thunder.

Wordless Wednesday - Glaciers.

I wasn't going to post any more Alaska photos but several people said the previous photos were not how they imagined Alaska to be.

We were there mid July and it was mostly T shirt weather during the land tour, the sort of summer temperatures we are used to around 65F. The following two photos were taken from the ship of the glaciers.

Glacier Bay.

Hubbard Glacier. We were much further from the glacier than it appears. Note in the bottom right the glacier calving.

Wordless Wednesday.

I know it is supposed to be Wordless, but I like to explain my photos!

As we are in lockdown and I am not able to travel and take new photos I thought I would look through my old ones.
This was a non digital photo that I scanned.
We took a land tour by rail and coach followed by a cruise.
I can't believe it was 15 years ago that we were there!
This is the Alaska midnight sun express which took us from Anchorage to Denali.
I was standing on the viewing platform at the back of the train looking towards the engine.
